Samsung Icemaker I/R Sensor Question

I have the Samsung French Door on top, Icemaker Upper left corner Freezer on the bottom, Model #RF26J7500SR refridgerator. The icemaker has always been a hassle, but at least it made ice. It no longer does so. Iโ€™ve tried everything but replacing the Icemaker/Auger Assembly/Control board. Right now it hasnโ€™t made ice in almost 2 weeks. Not even in test mode (I hit the test button and hear the *DING-DING*, so I know the I/M is operational). Iโ€™ve defrosted it using the โ€œFdโ€ forced defrost mode and steamer, so there is absolutely no ice buildup on anything. It simply wonโ€™t drop ice. I did remove the I/M and the auger assembly just to inspect them and make sure there was no icebuildup anywhere in the back of the ice room, and I did notice my auger assembly has a hairline crack in it. Could this possibly be the issue? Also, is the I/R sensor located on the auger assembly supposed to emit a visible beam? Because it does not. Iโ€™ve also checked my compressor and evaporator coils and theyโ€™re all clean. I have placed a thermometer in the ice room and it hovers around 10F degrees. I know it wonโ€™t drop ice until it reaches 9F, but my thermometer could be off. Although I do have the freezer temp set to -8F. Any suggestions? Based on everything Iโ€™ve read here about the disaster that is the Samsung Icemaker, Iโ€™m thinking I need to replace all the components, i.e., I/M, auger assembly and the control board. And do that epoxy thing to seal the ice room.

Ice maker is in the fridge so maybe lower fridge temp?

Iโ€™m thinking ๐Ÿง since everything works fine except the Dumping itโ€™s gotta be thinking the Bin is full. So is that because I cooked it with the hairdryer? Probably. Now just gotta tryโ€™n fix it.

Is there a reason you set freezer to -8*f? Since nothing happens when you push and hold the reset button, Iโ€™d check the I/m connection that is behind the little access panel left of I/m. Also, make sure you have that ice maker turned on at the user interface. I have not seen an I/R sensor on this style I/m.

From what youโ€™ve described, I would do what i suggested, plus, Iโ€™d set freezer temp to the manufacturers suggested 0*f. Allow the box 24 hours to adjust to the changes. This ice maker doesnโ€™t dump ice like the one in the freezer. This one has the gas tube loop in it. It takes it a while to defrost itself before ice maker will dump ice. Since you removed it, it would have filled with water. Iโ€™d check to see if it filled.

10*f is not 9*f. These I/m sensors can fail. You need an accurate thermometer.
